Netflix to Roll Out New Interface Next Month

Netflix as we know it is about to change. The streaming giant is prepping for a design overhaul and confirmed that it will roll out a new web interface worldwide beginning next month. The new look is meant to be more in line with what subscribers are currently seeing on mobile devices and gaming consoles.

According to TechCrunch, the new design will eliminate the slower, scrolling carousels for content discovery in favor of an updated look with larger thumbnails in each section. These thumbnails can be clicked to expand a screen with additional info about the title in question. On the older web interface, users are required to click the “More Info” link and access a new screen in order to see more information about the series or movie they’re contemplating watching. Consequently, navigating Netflix’s huge content offering will presumably become quicker.

The closest comparison to the new interface is the current Netflix tablet interface, which appears to feature certain visual aspects of the new design. This would be Netflix’s first big desktop overhaul since 2011.

We should be able to test and enjoy Netflix’s new look starting next month. Below you have a sneak peek at the new interface, courtesy of The Verger.
