Netflix to Reboot Top Gear. Get Ready for… House of Cars?

Rumour has it that former Top Gear presenter Jeremy Clarkson won’t be out of work for much longer. Netflix is interested in rebooting the famous Top Gear series and, according to Daily Mirror, Clarkson already has a name for the new show: House of Cars.

Jeremy Clarkson was fired by BBC in March for abusing one of Top Gear’s producers. Ever since then, there have been rumors that Clarkson is planning to revive the series on another network, and it seems that Netflix might be interested. The new show would feature Clarkson teaming up with his former co-workers Richard Hammond and James May.

According to Daily Mirror, as BBC still owns the Top Gear trademark, the trio already has a name for the new series: House of Cars. This is of course a nod to popular drama House of Cards, one of Netflix’s hit series.

However, not much is known about the new format so far, so don’t get your hopes up just yet. It may be some time until a finalised deal is announced and we will get to find out if and when we will have the chance to see Clarkson on our screens again.
