Netflix Orders Original Series Produced in Mexico

Netflix is expanding its horizons. The streaming giant is set to explore the life of the first lady of Mexico in its new Spanish-language original show, Ingobernable. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Netflix ordered 20 episodes.

The series will star Kate del Castillo playing Irene Urza, the wife of Mexico’s president. As the streaming service stated, she’s a woman with a strong personality and clear ideas who is capable of “creating a president, leaving a president and killing a president.”

Ingobernable will be produced by Argos and directed by Jose Luis Garcia Agraz and Pedro Pablo Ibarra. Production will begin in Mexico in early 2016, but a premiere date for the show hasn’t been announced yet.
