Netflix recently announced that it has acquired the distribution rights to Brad Pitt’s upcoming movie War Machine. The satirical comedy will land on the streaming giant in 2016.
War Machine is based on Michael Hastings’ non-fiction book The Operators: The Wild and Terrifying Inside Story of America’s War in Afghanistan. The movie is written and directed by Animal Kingdom filmmaker David Michôd.
“We are so excited to be a part of the inspiring commitment by Netflix to produce cutting-edge content and to deliver it to a global audience,” Brad Pitt said in a press release. In the movie, he plays a four-star general with a lethal reputation and impeccable track record determined to win the war in Afghanistan.
