The UFC calendar for 2021 gets properly under way this month, with a hotly anticipated rematch between two of the biggest names in the sport. Irish powerhouse Conor McGregor will face down Dustin Poirier for the first time since 2014, when Poirier lost to McGregor in a TKO after less than two minutes. He’ll be out to avenge that loss, but with McGregor only having fought for a total of 40 seconds over the past two years, there’s plenty at stake for both.
This must-see event on January 24th can be watched in multiple ways – from the comfort of your couch or on your phone or tablet wherever you are. There are more ways to watch than ever before – check out your options below!
Poirier vs McGregor Preview
It was a quiet 2020 for Conor McGregor, after he abandoned thoughts of retirement to take on Donald Cerrone at the start of the year. He TKO’d Cerrone in a mere 40 seconds, a bold statement that he was far from done. The win made him the first UFC fighter to win by TKO in the featherweight, lightweight, and welterweight divisions.
Poirier, meanwhile, sits at #2 in the UFC lightweight rankings and since moving up to that division after his loss to McGregor, has had a years-long scorecard of wins. For him, the meet with McGregor is going to be a long-awaited chance to settle the score.
