The UFC will make a historic return to Australia on Sunday the 15th of November at a sold out Etihad Stadium, as arguably the world’s greatest female athlete Ronda Rousey defends her Bantam-weight title for the seventh time, when taking on the dangerous Holly Holm.
In a battle of the unbeaten Ronda Rousey v Holly Holm will surely have the Octagon as well as the stadium rocking, and you need not miss a minute of the excitement when watching UFC 193 live using the options provided here.
Ronda Rousey vs Holly Holm: UFC 193 Preview
Ronda Rousey is not only the most well known UFC fighter currently on tour, she is considered one of the most dominant female athletes in the world. Given her stunning record in the Octagon, it’s hard to argue with that, as she’s currently undefeated in 12 pro fights. Eight of those wins have come in the first round by her signature move, the “Armbar”. The other stat that is mind boggling is that her last four fights combined, have only lasted 130 seconds. The Melbourne public will expect her to win, but her opponent this time around poses perhaps a much more serious threat.
In the opposite corner will be Holly Holm, a three time boxing world champion who has had nine fights in the Octagon and is also yet to taste defeat. Six of those wins have come by KO, so she knows what is required to land some serious blows. She’s nicknamed “The Preacher’s Daughter” due to her father being a preacher in her home town of Albuquerque, but that all changes when she steps into the Octagon. Holm, one of the most decorated female fighters of the last decade, will be looking to cause one of the biggest upsets in UFC history, and given the way she has been performing in recent UFC fights, she is a chance.
Jedrzejczyk vs Letourneau: Co-main Event
With all the focus on Rousey and Holm, the featured undercards are slightly overlooked, but both matches will be rippers. The co-main event is between Joanna Jedrzejczyk and Valerie Letourneau. Jedrzejczyk became the first Polish fighter to become a UFC Champion in March when she beat The Ultimate Fighter: A Champion will be Crowned winner Carla Esparaza in a Round 2 KO. She defends her Straw-weight title against Valerie Letourneau, who is nicknamed “Trouble”. Letourneau has won eight times, and three of those have come in the first round.
Antonio Silva vs Mark Hunt: Featured Bout
The big boys will kick off the afternoon when Antonio Silva takes on Australian hope Mark Hunt in a rematch of one of the greatest heavyweight fights in UFC history. Hunt, originally from New Zealand but now based in Sydney, has a very good record of 10-10-1, the latest match being in May when beaten in a fifth round knockout by Stipe Miocic. He takes on the Brazilian giant Silva, nicknamed “Bigfoot”. He was brilliant in his last fight, beating Soa Palalaei in a second round knockout on the undercard to UFC 190.
