Unsung local restaurant heroes from around the country will battle over dinners in order to win a $100,000 prize and realise their biggest food dreams. All in the new Nine series The Hotplate, which is set to premiere over three nights, at the end of the month.
The restaurant heroes will face the toughest critics – their fellow competitors – and they’ll be judged on all aspects of the restaurant experience. Joining them will be the judges, acclaimed Chef Scott Pickett and restaurant critic Tom Parker Bowles.
The premise of the show is simple: the worst performing teams in The Hotplate will face elimination. Those who survive will have the chance to transform their restaurants and take their business to the next level.
The teams who’ve most impressed the critics will lead their staff in catering for a full restaurant in an epic finals round. Ultimately, one of them will be crowned the best restaurant and winner of The Hotplate.

The Hotplate premieres Tuesday July 28 at 7:30 pm, and continues Wednesday July 29 at 7:30 pm and Thursday July 30 at 7:30 pm only on Nine.
