Where to Watch or Stream the AFL Marsh Series Live in Australia

AFL State of Origin TV broadcast schedule

A special one off AFL match will take place this month to help raise millions of dollars for the bush fires that have scorched Australia this summer. A team of Victorians will take on an All Star side made up of players from other footy loving states.

This game will take place in Melbourne at the Marvel Stadium, with all proceeds from the event being donated to the Community Relief Fund, helping those most affected by the recent fires. Victoria will be coached by Richmond’s Damien Hardwick, whilst the All Stars will be under the tutelage of the Swans’ John Longmire. The AFL State Of Origin takes place on the 28th of February and using the options listed in this TV guide you won’t have to miss a key moment.

AFL Marsh Series TV Rights and Broadcast Guide

There are several options for watching the AFL State Of Origin 2020 in Australia, including live coverage on free to air with Channel 7 and their sister station 7mate. While this is certainly good news for Footy fans, Seven does not have the broadcast rights to televise the AFL Marsh Community Series, which is currently underway. For comparison, Foxtel (Kayo Sports/Telstra) has an agreement in place to televise the 2020 AFL State of Origin, as well as every match of the 2020 Marsh Community Series Live. That’s an additional 18 LIVE AFL pre-season matches between February 20th and March 9th.

Foxtel’s coverage comes via their Fox Footy HD channel which specialises in everything AFL. Foxtel’s coverage is headed by Eddie McGuire alongside the likes of Gerard Whateley, Dermott Brereton and Nick Dal Santo. As well as the AFL State Of Origin replays, Fox Footy will show AFL games across the season, including the Marsh Community Series. Fortunately, there is more than one way to access Fox Footy on Australian TV, they include Foxtel, Foxtel Now, Foxtel from Telstra and the Kayo Sports streaming platform, with each game available Live and in HD.

Watch the AFL State of Origin Live on Network Seven

Seven are the exclusive AFL State of Origin free to air provider in Australia for this one off game. They will show the whole match live, along with a post game show to look back on the best parts. The network has also put their most experienced commentary team forward for the event, including the likes of  Bruce McAnaney, Tim Watson and Basil Zempilas who front their general AFL broadcasts.

It should be noted that Seven’s streaming service 7plus will not show this historic State of Origin match live or on demand, meaning that it will be difficult to watch on a mobile device. Seven is also very light on in game TV features, such as high definition and the ability to watch other sporting events that may be happening at the same time. An example is the 2020 AFL Marsh Community Series, the annual AFL pre-season tune up, for which Seven have limited coverage and currently no live matches.

Watch AFL Marsh Series Live Online with Foxtel
