Great news for basketball fans: Fox Sports and Basketball Australia signed a new deal to broadcast the WNBL. The three-year arrangement will see a minimum of one game to be aired live every week, as well as finals. The revamped season will run from October to January. Foxtel subscribers will be able to catch up with all the action on Fox Sports, while fans without a Foxtel subscription can stream games via Foxtel Play.
The WNBL is the longest running elite female competition in the country. Unfortunately, the league has been almost invisible in recent years with no broadcast partner to support the athletes. But all that’s about to change.
Fox Sports and Basketball Australia recently confirmed a new three-year partnership. Launching in time for the 2017-18 season, the arrangement will see a minimum of one game per week, plus every Finals match, broadcast live on Fox Sports through to 2019-20 including the games that are not available on Free to Air TV.
The new look competition will run from October to January and it will culminate with a best of 3 Semi and Grand Final Series. Fox Sports and Basketball Australia are currently working together to finalise the scheduling of the weekly broadcast.
Watch live with Foxtel Play
While Foxtel subscribers who have the Sports Combo will be able to tune in weekly to catch the games, sport fans who are not keen on getting Foxtel installed in their homes can go with a Foxtel Play subscription.
All Fox Sports channels are included in the Sport Pack, which costs $29/month. To get it, you will also have to subscribe to a base pack – Kids, Lifestyle, and Docos are all $10/month, while Drama and Pop come at $15/month each.
Once subscribed, you can watch all the sports action your heart craves live via the internet. You also get free access to Foxtel Go, so you can quickly and easily stream the WNBL live on eligible mobile devices.
