“This marks a new era in the relationship between Fox Sports and the NRL,” said chief executive Patrick Delaney. “It’s a massive win for fans and our subscribers. No matter what your Aussie sport, no matter what your team, you can watch them all live and in high definition on FOX Sports across Australia.”
“Over the last five years we’ve innovated our coverage, launched new shows and introduced new, young commentators to complement our stable of the biggest names in rugby league. The new rights deal allows us to take our coverage to the next level.”
That next level includes the launch of the new Fox League channel (Fox 502), a Rugby League channel dedicated to broadcasting the matches live, and 24/7 coverage of the latest League news, scores, highlights and match replays starting from 28 February 2017, while also offering Live NRL streaming to compatible mobile devices through the Foxtel Go app.
The Fox League channel will have pre- and post-game shows to complement the coverage of the featured contests of the week, to include every live NRL Free to Air match, with many new shows in the works for weekdays between the games on the new dedicated channel. Additionally, fans can watch the NRL online using Foxtel Play, across a variety of eligible devices.
