As the 75th anniversary of the championship chase begins, F1 fans are eager to know how to watch every practice, qualifying session and championship race, live or on demand. As well as the available streaming options, and start times for each official F1 event on the 2024 calendar.

This guide will provide the up-to-date details so you never need to miss a key moment involving your favourite driver or Grand Prix.

Where to Watch F1 live in Australia in 2024

The newest edition of the Formula One World Championship officially starts in early March of 2023, with the curtain-raiser in Bahrain, and will conclude on 8 December with the Abu Dhabi finale. In total there will be a record twenty-four Grands Prix on this season’s calendar. This includes last year’s fixtures, plus a return of the Chinese Grand Prix after a five year absence.

The broadcast rights to all twenty-four championship races on the 2024 Formula One schedule belong exclusively to Fox Sports (Foxtel/Kayo). The lone exception to this is that Network Ten is allowed to simulcast live coverage of the Australian Grand Prix across free-to-air channels 10 and 10 Play.

Previously, channel Ten offered one-hour highlight packages after every Formula One round on their 10 Play online platform. This season, however, channel Ten has not indicated they will be providing any replay coverage.

This means that if you’re looking to watch F1 live or on-replay, the broadcast options in Australia involve the Fox Sports channel, which is available on Foxtel, Foxtel Now, Telstra or Kayo Sports.

The wall-to-wall coverage on Fox Sports (Foxtel/Kayo) will include every F1 practice, qualifying session and Grand Prix broadcast live, and ad-break free during racing.

Is F1 TV Pro available on Foxtel in Australia?

Last season, Foxtel introduced F1 TV Pro ahead of the Australian Grand Prix. As such, an F1 TV Pro subscription is available to Foxtel Sport subscribers with an iQ4 or iQ5 set-top box at no extra cost.

F1 TV Pro offers an unrivaled viewing experience that includes telemetry data, access to team radio, live timing data and live driver maps, as well as multiple different live in-race feeds and camera options.

The F1 TV Pro subscription is not available separately in Australia without a Foxtel iQ subscription and a set-top box. You can only access F1 TV as a stand-alone platform.

How to watch F1 live with Telstra

Foxtel, Foxtel Now and Kayo Sports are available through Telstra by simply adding them to your account.

Foxtel from Telstra offers the exact same AFL programming as a standard Foxtel service, and is available with the purchase of a twelve-month subscription.

Foxtel Now from Telstra is generally available at a reduced monthly rate, and sometimes can be acquired without a lock-in contract. To access live AFL games using Foxtel Now from Telstra you will need to pay for the Foxtel Now Essentials Pack and then add the Sports HD Pack.

How to watch the Australian Grand Prix free on Channel 10

Channel Ten only has the rights to televise one F1 race live – the Australian Grand Prix.

This is a similar set-up to Ten’s coverage of MotoGP, where the free to air broadcaster was able to secure TV rights to the 2023 Motorcycle Grand Prix at Phillip Island, helped greatly by Australia’s anti-siphoning laws.

Additionally, Channel Ten will no longer show highlight packages of the other F1 Grand Prix events on the 2023 championship calendar. For replays, you will need to have access to Foxtel, Telstra or Kayo Sports.

F1 Fixtures List and 2024 Start Dates
