The always funny Ellen DeGeneres will produce a new Netflix animated series, based on Dr. Seuss’ classic children’s book Green Eggs and Ham. The show will premiere in 2018, with 13 episodes ordered so far.
Ellen made the announcement on her show, Ellen. “The show is going to combine two of my favourite things: Dr. Seuss’ and binge-watching and we’re making 13 episodes. It will be fun for the whole family,” she told her studio audience.
The Green Eggs and Ham adaptation will be available exclusively on Netflix. Production will begin this May, and the premiere is currently slated for 2018. Ellen DeGeneres will executive-produce the project with Jared Stern, Jeff Kleeman, Mike Karz, and David Dobkin.
Dr. Seuss’ classic children’s book was first published in 1960 and tells the story of an unnamed protagonist who is forced to try the titular meal. A voice cast for the series hasn’t been announced yet.
