DAZN Launches in Australia with the Fight of the Year

Joshua vs Pulev on DAZN

Launched in Australia this month after four years growing into one of Europe and America’s biggest sports streaming services, DAZN is launching with a huge bang, with exclusive live coverage of one of the year’s most anticipated heavyweight fights, live and direct from London. The big drawcard is the showdown between two of the world’s best – Anthony Joshua and Kubrat Pulev.

Joshua, the Unified Heavyweight Champion of the World, is on a path to a showdown with Tyson Fury, a road that will lead him to the WBC belt and the title of Undisputed Heavyweight Champion. He’ll be laser-focused on beating Pulev to open up the path to the title, and his “seek and destroy” style will need to be on form to claim victory. Joshua, a former Olympic gold medallist, has a knockout-to-win percentage of 91% and has lost only one professional bout in his rise to the title. A 6’ 6” giant who’s won 21 of 23 wins by KO, he doesn’t mess around.

Neither, though, does his Bulgarian opposition, Kubrat “The Cobra” Pulev. Also with only one loss on his pro record among 28 wins, Pulev is just as used to victory as Joshua, and won’t be an easy mark. He’s chalked up more wins that Joshua, and had a stunning amateur career winning multiple international medals before turning pro in 2009, and in the 11 years since, aside from a loss to Wladimir Klitschko in 2014, he’s been unbeatable.

Neither of the two heavyweight legends wants to chalk up another loss on their record, and Joshua’s determined to power through to his shot at the Undisputed title. Pulev, meanwhile, has nothing to lose. Both have had layoffs of over a year and are going to be hungry to get back in the ring.

Live coverage of the Joshua vs Pulev fight starts streaming on DAZN from 5am on Sunday December 13th AEDT, with the entire fight available to watch on replay later.

DAZN’s next major fight event include Canelo Alvarez challenging Callum Smith for the WBA super middleweight title on Sunday December 20th, and Gennady Golovkin faces Kamil Szeremeta for the IBF middleweight title the previous day.

DAZN is available on a large range of devices for only $2.99 a month, with everything included in the price.
