Barefoot NBN plans are pretty straightforward. They all come with unlimited data, no contracts, and a $0 setup fee. What tells them apart them? The NBN speed. Users have four plans to choose from, all based on how fast you want your internet to be.
The NBN rollout can be pretty confusing. And since plenty of people will be on the lookout for a new NBN provider, Barefoot decided to keep things simple. You don’t have to assess exactly how many GB of data you’ll need in a month, since all plans are unlimited. Clients can stream and download without worrying about exceeding a given allowance, which is always a plus. What should you consider then, when picking an NBN plan with Barefoot? The NBN speed.
The telco offers four NBN plans, all offering internet at different speed tiers. While the NBN is pretty speedy as is, to experience its true power, you’ll want to invest in a plan with a higher speed tier. Meanwhile, if you’re an average user who’s only looking to look up stuff on Google and write some emails, the 12/1 speed tier, advertised as standard, should be more than enough to satisfy your needs.
The numbers here refer to download and upload speed. In other words, that is the maximum speed you’ll be able to attain, measured in megabits per second rather than megabytes. As general guidance, 12 Mbit/sec is at the mid-range of possible ADSL2+ download speeds. So if you were happy with your previous ADSL connection, you’ll be happy with standard NBN speed as well. If you’re an avid streamer or gamer, however, you might want a speed boost.
With Barefoot, the 12Mbps/1Mbps or the Lite plan costs $59/month. As we’ve said, there are no extra fees or contracts. For speedier internet, you can opt for the Mid plan, at the 25Mbps/5Mbps. This one comes at $69/month. Is your budget heftier? The we highly recommend the top two Barefoot NBN plans. The Max plan provides internet at the 50Mbps/20Mbps speed tier for $89/month. And if you truly want to experience the NBN’s power, the Ultra plan, at $99/month, gives you the fastest speed available on the NBN – 100mbps/40mbps.
