Mid Year Ashes Wins TV Ratings Gold - 6 Aug 2019

A look at the latest ratings results and what they mean for the networks – as well as a glimpse at how well your favourite shows are doing!

The Mid-Year Ashes First Test Achieves Ratings Gold on Nine

More cricket action continues with The Ashes live on 9Gem with Australia battling it out with England. It’s the oldest rivalry known in Australian sport, with the First Test kicking off last Thursday up until yesterday at Edgbaston, Birmingham.

Thanks to Nine’s coverage of all five Test matches between Australia and England, Aussies are able to catch every piece of the action live on free to air. It was a big night for free to air ratings that saw the last day of the First Test Match reaching up to 760,000 viewers for the 5-city aggregate figure.

Nine Network is the official partner of the Ashes on free to air and is the only place you can stream all matches live, plus on demand catch up on 9Now. Fans of the Ashes can tune in to the remaining 4 Test matches with the second Test match kicking off on August 14 and running until the 18th. It will be held at Lord’s in London, and broadcast live every night at 7:30PM AEST on 9Gem.

How to Watch The Mid-Year Ashes Match Replays

Even though the First Test Match has recently ended, you can still catch up with on demand replays of this prestigious event via 9Now. Unfortunately, The Ashes will not be streamed via Fox Sports or Kayo, but you can still check out Kayo’s 14 day free trial offer to compliment your Ashes viewing with other popular sport action in HD.

It’s A Cartoon Kind of Monday Night

The Ashes took up a lot of the viewership this Monday night and didn’t leave much to other shows on prime time. Of course, there were still lots who tuned in to Foxtel’s broadcast of hit adult cartoon shows like Family Guy, The Simpsons, and American Dad!
