MasterChef Australia Wins Overnight Ratings Gold on Ten
The ever so consistent reality competition show has finally reached its conclusion last night with a new crowned winner of MasterChef Australia season 11. It all boiled down to the remaining 3 competitors Simon Toohey, Larissa Takchi, and Tessa Boersma with Larissa being hailed as the winner at only 22 years old — making her the youngest winner in the history of MasterChef Australia.
The show has been handing Network Ten consistent ratings all throughout its airtime with the finale reaching about 992,000 viewership in a 5-city aggregate figure. It was a tense finale that saw the three chefs doing their very best to win the coveted title and cash prize worth $250,000.00. In the end, it was Larissa who managed to wow the judges with her unique combination of ingredients all throughout the season.
Speaking of judges, days prior to the airing of the finale, Network Ten has also announced that the three judges consisting of Gary Mehigan, George Calombaris, and Matt Preston will no longer be returning to season 12 after having hosted the hit show for all of the 11 seasons. The announcement follows the news of the now-embattled Calombaris, who’s facing a fine after being exposed of underpaying his workers. What’s in store now with MasterChef Australia next season? You’l have to tune in to find out.
