Amaysim to Enter Australia's Fixed Broadband Market
Amaysim Plans to Enter Australia’s Fixed Broadband Market
Amaysim is broadening its horizons. The junior mobile provider recently agreed to buy Australian Broadband Services and is planning to enter the country’s fixed broadband market next year.
The move makes sense, since Amaysim Mobile is looking to take advantage of the rollout of the national broadband network. Buying AusBBS’ technology platform is a great first step in the right direction. According to News.com.au, Amaysim will pay $1 million in cash and $1.5 million in Amaysim shares on completion of the deal. Plus, a further $1.5 million in Amasyim shares one year later, subject to certain conditions. The parties have also agreed to a maximum earn-out of $5.45 million payable in cash and Amaysim shares.
Amaysim currently offers SIM-only mobile and data plans. The company is preparing to launch their fixed broadband offerings next year, after considering possible wholesale partners, technology options and launch plans. If interested visit the Amaysim contact centre for more details.
