Kamaru Usman vs Colby Covington 2 fight preview

The Usman vs Covington 2 fight is unarguably one of the most exciting UFC match-ups of the year. When the duo last fought, Usman won the Welterweight championship with a fifth-round knockout after breaking Covington’s jaw in the third round.

There is plenty of buzz around the match as fans wait for the two to face off again. In a recent interview, Covington accused Usman of purposely avoiding their rematch, adding further fuel to the fire.

While people might expect a similar outcome this time, they should remember that Colby Covington is an altogether different fighter to the one Usman has last won against. While Covington may have been out of the octagon for a while, he did score an epic win against Tyron Woodley last time out.

Can welterweight champion Kamaru Usman defend his title?

After his brutal win against Covington 2 in 2019, Welterweight Champion Kamaru Usman has only seemed to up his game. Since then, he has defeated Jorge Masvidal twice as well as Gilbert Burns.

Having defended the title three times already, Usman seems to be all pumped up for the rematch against Covington. Usman, the “Nigerian Nightmare”, is on the road to becoming one of the best-ever welterweight fighters in the UFC.

Colby Covington has not been in the octagon since September 2020. In his last match, he achieved his TKO victory against Tyron Woodley.

However, there is no reason to underestimate Colby “the Chaos’ Covington. While he did not win the first time around against Usman, the fight was very close. He managed to get through five rounds even though his jaw was shattered.

He has not been fighting as often as Usman lately, but his last match was a success. The “Chaos” displayed his striking abilities when he won over Woodley in the fifth round.
