How Can I Watch Presto On My TV?

Shutting down permanently in early 2017, Presto offered its users both classic and recent blockbuster movies, as well as a wide array of entertaining TV shows. However, not everybody prefers watching their favourite movies and TV shows on a 12-inch laptop screen! So, the question here is: can you watch on your 45-inch television? The answer is yes, and there are quite a few methods available to do so. Presto may be gone, but the advice is just as useful for the streaming services that are still around!

HDMI Cable

Almost every computer and some mobile devices come with HDMI support. Plug one end into your mobile device/computer and the other end into your HDTV – be sure to do this when both devices are switched off. Once connected, your computer or phone screen will be displayed on your TV as well. Then, back in the day you could access Presto from your mobile device/computer, select the desired TV show or movie, and watch your favourite video content on your big screen TV. Though this was an easy way of watching Presto on your TV, the video quality when played via a web browser was limited to standard definition.

Streaming Media Device

Streaming media devices, such as Google Chromecast, Telstra TV and Apple TV (via Airplay) – as well as current game consoles – allow users to stream content directly to their TV screens, either by using a smartphone/tablet app, or an app on the device itself. Let’s take Chromecast as an example here. All you need to do is plug in your Chromecast and connect it to the same Wi-Fi network as your mobile device/computer. Then, you simply need to access your desired streaming app, select the content you want to view, choose the TV you want to cast your Chromecast to, and your favourite video content will be displayed on your TV.

Smart TV

Perhaps the easiest way to stream content on your TV is by getting a smart TV. Now, you might have been hearing about these televisions a lot in advertisements or from your friends, but let us tell you one important thing about it: they are called smart for a reason. They come with numerous cool capabilities and even let you run different kinds of apps, including video streaming applications. Though a smart TV is never cheap, it’s highly effective and eliminates the need for handling cables or buying a media streaming device.

So, keep the abovementioned guidelines in mind, and you will be able to enjoy high quality movies and TV shows on your TV. Which method do you prefer?
