However, the dedicated Fox channels broadcast year-round games of other prominent AFL competitions as well.

AFL Premiership

The AFL premiership is a prestigious league that witnesses 18 clubs competing through different stages. The Grand Final is the match in which two teams compete to end up as the ‘premier’ of the season. Every premiership game is available on the Fox Network’s Fox Footy channel.

AFLW

The AFL Women’s league is a semi-professional event based on Australian Rules Football. The league started in 2017 and comprises 14 teams at this time. The club Adelaide has two AFLW premierships in a brief history. Players like Erin Phillips, Emma Kearney and Madison Prespakis feature in the AFLW. All the AFLW matches can be seen on Fox Footy.

WAFL

The West Australia Football League is another Australian Rules Football competition held in Perth, West Australia. This league consists of 10 teams that play a 20-round season. East Fremantle, West Perth and East Perth are some prominent clubs playing the WAFL.

VFL

The Victorian Football League is an Australian Rules football tournament that finds its origin in Victoria. It features 21 teams or clubs across Victoria and is administered by AFL Victoria. Toyota AFL Premiership Season 2021 Clubs

This year, 18 clubs are part of the prestigious AFL tournament. The season began on the 18th of March and will end on the 25th of September. Here’s a look at all the exciting club squads that will fight for the prestigious trophy.

Adelaide Crows

Under the coaching of former Port Adelaide coach Mathew Nicks, the Adelaide Crows endured a rough 2021 season. However, with a leadership group like Matt Crouch, Tom Lynch and captain Rory Sloane, fans will be expecting a stronger comeback in the next AFL season.

Brisbane Lions

Chris Fagan’s tenure as the lion’s coach was a forgettable one. The 2017 and 2018 seasons were definitely a disappointment for Brisbane Lions fans. However, under the leadership of Dayne Zorko, the team has had an inconsistent 2021 AFL.

Carlton

Carlton, a club that has always been the fiercest rivals of Collingwood, didn’t have a great season. With new president Luke Sayers, the club is expected to undergo considerable turnover. All eyes will be now on 2022 for Carlton.

Collingwood

With an excellent blend of players like Taylor Adams and Jordan de Goey with veterans like Steele Sidebottom, Collingwood should have had a better 2021. They are a consistent side that doesn’t let its guard down. Also, with Robert Harvey as the new coach, it is interesting to see the prospects of this Victorian AFL club.

Essendon

Under the leadership of Dyson Heppel and a vice-captain group consisting of Michael Hurley, Andrew McGrath and Zach Merrett, Essendon made it to the finals this year. Jake Stringer, their leading goalkicker is definitely a reason to be optimistic for 2022.

Fremantle

The Dockers are always on the lookout for their first major premiership. This fact makes them one of the most threatening sides in the AFL stages. Coach Justin Longmuir and captain Nat Fyfe will look to improve Fremantle‘s overall performance in 2022 after progress this year.

Geelong Cats

At this time, the cats are undoubtedly a top club in the AFL premiership. With players like Tom Hawkins, Joel Selwood and Mark Blicavs, Geelong looks like a formidable unit forged with true firepower. Their heartbreak against Melbourne will only spur them on again in 2022.

Gold Coast Suns

Under the coaching of Stuart Dew, the Suns adopt a draft strategy. This strategy focuses on recruiting young players, but it did backfire in the past. However, captain David Swallow has the potential to take the team ahead with promising players like Matt Rowell in their club squad. The Gold Coast Suns might just be going places.

Hawthorn

It was 2018 when Hawthorne last made a run to the semi-finals, but the other years have been disappointing for the fans. With Sam Mitchell ready to replace Clarkson after the end of 2021 AFL, fans will expect a new era in Hawthorn history.

Melbourne

The coach and captain combo of Simon Goodwin and Max Gawn seems to be working wonders for this club. They are in the grand final berth of AFL 2021, the first time in the past 20 years. This news is definitely a delight to all the Melbourne club fans across Australia and the entire world.

North Melbourne

Under the leadership of Jack Ziebell and a leadership group comprising of Ben Cunnington, Kayne Turner and Robbie Tarrant, the North Melbourne Kangaroos promise better performances and positive signs to their fans for the upcoming AFL premiership. Nick Larkey was the leading goalkicker for the club’s 2021 season with 42 goals, but they finished with the wooden spoon.

Port Adelaide

With coach Ken Hinkley and captain Tom Jonas, Port Adelaide has some fierce players. Hence, they are nicknamed ‘Power’ in the AFL. Any side feels rushed against the players from this club and it was no surprise they ended nearly went all the way this year.

GWS Giants

The tenth AFL season for the GWS Giants under the captaincy of Stephen Coniglio saw the rise of Toby Greene as the leading goalkicker for the club. The GWS Giants are a comparatively new side to the AFL but enjoy great support from fans all over Australia.

Richmond

Richmond, also known as the ‘Tigers’ has won 13 AFL premierships to date. Coached by Damien Hardwick, the club has a capable captain in the form of Trent Cotchin. With the 12th position in the 2021 AFL season, Richmond Tigers fans will hope the club bounces back in 2022.

St Kilda

Often termed as underachievers, St Kilda is a club known for having one of the lowest win percentages in the AFL. The club has been better in 2021, however. Expect them to come back stronger in 2022.

Sydney Swans

Consistency and Sydney Swans are synonymous. The 5-time AFL Premiership winners have played the most final series games amongst other Australian football clubs. With a talented coach John Longmire and spirited leaders like Josh Kennedy, Luke Parker and Dane Rampe, the Swans have a good unit to keep fans intrigued to their matches.

West Coast Eagles

The West Coast Eagles are a renowned AFL club with a huge fan following. The current squad has Adam Simpson as the head coach and Luke Shuey as the captain. The club has had a good run during the 2021 season, narrowly missing out on a finals place.

Western Bulldogs

Die-hard Western Bulldogs fans will laud the efforts of coach Luke Beveridge and captain Marcus Bontempelli. The past few years have been inconsistent yet fruitful for the club. This year, with Josh Bruce in red hot form, the fans will be looking for some phenomenal moments in the AFL Grand Final.
