If you’re up for some laugh-out-loud comedy then look no further than the second season of Squinters. We’re again invited inside the world of Sydney’s car-share commuters, continuing in much the same vein as season one – which became ABC iView’s most watch comedy in 2018. Sam Simmons, Rose Matafeo and Justin Rosniak return to side-splitting effect – alongside some special guest appearances from Kristen Schaal and Mamorne Morris. You can expect more wacky nonsense and surreal anecdotes from the Kosciusko employees over six hilarious episodes, which you can catch up on ABC iView.

Humans

British sci-fi drama Humans is now into its third season, with the ongoing battle for power between poverty-stricken synths (robots) and humans playing out over eight new episodes. This enthralling series may be set in a fictional version of earth, but the questions it poses with regards to race, inequality and injustice seem to reflect modern reality. Laura Hawkins has become a leading figure in the stand-up for synth rights in a world that sees them as murderers and criminals, banished to the outskirts of society and left for dead. But with the development of a new orange-eyed synth, opinion and order may be set to change?

ABC iView has it All

If you need more comedy (shows) in your life, ABC iView can definitely deliver. Aside from Squinters, you can also tune in to other acclaimed shows including The Heights, Bluewater Empire, and more. Grand Designs: The Street2019Grand Designs: The Street has been an epic five years in the making. In this six-part series, presented by Kevin McCloud, cameras follow the first 10 pioneering households who are building a brand new street from scratch, on what will ultimately be the UK’s largest self-build project.

This ground-breaking experiment takes place in a prime location near Bicester, just 14 miles from Oxford and under an hour from London by train. The local council bought the land from the MOD, and instead of selling it to a developer for a quick profit, they have pre-approved outline planning and sold plots to the general public for around £100k each.

The average budget for each house is £250,000, and every household is hoping to build for less than it would cost them to buy in the area. With ages ranging from 24-72, budgets ranging from £160k to £500k, and pre-approved outline planning, each household has a freedom to express themselves in their choice of design and construction methods. Over the course of the series, cameras will capture these intrepid self-builders constructing their unique homes – turning a field into a self-build street.

It’s a great opportunity, but not without risk. In the process, these pioneers will suffer injury, structural disasters, and physical and financial exhaustion. The pressure of self-building will cause friendships to fail, and relationships to break down. However, those who see the projects through to completion will be rewarded with beautiful homes, tailored to their needs, on a street like no other in the UK.
Baby Jake2011GBaby Jake is a children's television programme originally broadcast in the UK and first aired on 4 July 2011. The programme features Jake, a nine-month old baby. Jake is the youngest of ten children all living in a windmill with their parents. Each episode features Jake embarking on an adventure with a host of magical characters including Pengy Quin the Penguin, Toot Toot the Tractor, the Rocket Ship, Captain Spacey and the Hamsternauts, Nibbles the Rabbit, Sydney the Monkey, and, of course, Magic Baby Jake, himself.

The show features a child narrator and all ten children are depicted in real life, although Baby Jake is given a multi-angle photographic face on an animated body. Jake's babbling is translated by his 5-year old brother Isaac. Isaac is voiced by a real-life 5-year-old boy, in a move described by the Guardian as "a risk" since the majority of successful children's television is narrated by adults. The roles of Jake and Isaac are portrayed by real-life brothers Adamo and Franco Bertacchi-Morroni respectively, with Kaizer Akhtar providing the voice of Isaac.

The programme cost £1.85m to produce, and was funded by the Irish Film Board and CBeebies.

Darrall Macqueen Ltd and JAM Media co-produced the series. JAM Media are an Irish animation studio who also made Tilly and Friends. Maddy Darrall was quoted by the Metro as gaining inspiration for the show from watching her 7-year-old nephew understanding her 1-year-old son.
