Curved TV

What is a Curved TV?

The curved-screen TV is relatively new to the market, and is intended to make the viewing experience feel more natural and immersive on very large screens by taking into account the way our eyes work. Getting the sides of the TV image closer to the “peripheral vision” that our eyes see while we look at something in front of us is the goal, and when sitting close to a large curved screen there’s a noticeable “comfort factor” in not having to keep the eyes moving around the screen to take in everything that’s happening. Curved screens have been extremely popular for widescreen movies in the cinema, too, for exactly the same reason. Up till recently, physically curving a LCD screen in the same way was thought to be impossible, but technology of course found a way. It’s easily the closest you’ll come to recreating that true cinema experience on your home TV.
